Nature photography

Leftover raindrops that got caught on a spiderweb in Bicknell, Utah.

There are lots of lizards in Capital Reef. Normally they don't stand still long enough me to take their picture but this one did.

I love taking sky pictures. The contrast in light is just awesome to work with. These are all taken in Capital Reef, Utah. The sky is so clear there.

July 4, 2011

Here is a picture of Amber, my niece. I think I have a lot of pictures for her cause she can't walk yet...as soon as she is mobile it will probably be harder for her to sit still for pictures.

I love taking pictures. Here is a picture of my little sister, Heather. We were sitting in the kitchen waiting to go to the West Jordan Parade.

I love to take family pictures. This is a picture of my other little sister, Rachel and her family. They posed for me...right before the parade started.

Amber, my niece, had to get a better view so we put her on her mom's shoulders. She seemed to be enjoying the parade.

Now she is on her dad's shoulders.

Here is my mom, watching the parade.

I had to get a picture of my mom with the school bus as it drove by...she is a school teacher so I thought it was a funny picture.

Happy fourth of July!

Meet Patrick, Raquel and their family.

We went to Liberty Park to take these pictures.

I had fun taking these pictures with this family. Raquel and I went to Snow College together and it was fun to see her again.

Mirror photography

Amber taking a snooze.

I decided to try some pictures of Amber with a three way mirror in the background.

I couldn't resist not taking this picture. Despite the binky, just look at how intense her eyes are in this photograph.

I love when little kids laugh. It's quite contagious.

Meet Andy, Breanne, and Lance.

I took these at the West Jordan water conservatory park. I had a lot of fun taking these pictures.

Lance's birthday is coming up and he will be one. It amazes me how much an infant learns in their first year.

I have become fascinated by hands. Hands and feet. I love this picture of Lance's hands.

Lance was curious about my camera. I took this one as he was coming up to investigate. I love it though with the parents of Lance in the background it became one of my favorite pictures.

Lily and Cort

I took these pictures at Memory Grove in Salt Lake City.

I have a photographer's bag for when I photograph children.
I fill it full of snacks and props like bubbles to keep the children entertained while I take their picture.

I don't have a professional studio yet. Later in my life I might purchase fancier equipment but it's amazing the pictures you can still take with just a Nikon d3100 camera.

Every time I take a picture I learn something new. For example, I learned a lot about using natural outdoor lighting while taking these photographs.

I am grateful for my cousin and her family for allowing me to post these pictures so I can show my progress to others.

Amber

Meet my niece, Amber. I love taking pictures of infants. They are not mobile yet so it's easier to get the picture I want with them.

I take photos with a Nikon d3100. I love it! I am only a beginner but I want to learn all that I can about photography.

I like taking pictures because it freezes time. Photography to me is a way to remember the good times I have had with family and friends. We are only in a moment once and that's why I take pictures.

I can take over two hundred pictures in under an hour. The beauty of digital is that you can delete the ones you don't want.

I take quite a lot of pictures of my family. With those pictures I turn them into slideshows and at the end of the year I make a dvd of all the different pictures that I have taken throughout the year. So in a way for me, Photography is family history. A way to document each moment so the next generation can watch and learn from what we have taken from life.
